Kim is a Kripalu yoga instructor and certified nutrition coach with a passion for helping others feel empowered. She is on a mission to help others cultivate a connection with body, mind and spirit.
I started practicing yoga after returning home from the military in 2001. I had little to no direction in my life and struggled with my physical and mental well-being. The first time I walked into a yoga class, I felt empowered! The experience prompted me to be in the presence of my own discomfort, and eventually became the catalyst to my healing journey. Yoga has taught me so much about myself and ultimately, provided me with a sense of purpose.
Research shows Yoga is designed to boost your immune system, decrease inflammation, improve your overall mental well-being and reduce symptoms of depression, chronic illness, stress or pain. Not only that, but practicing yoga regularly evokes higher levels of awareness, compassion, and self-acceptance. If you commit to a regular practice your flexibility will improve, but it's the mind-body connection that makes a yoga practice powerful, beneficial, and sustainable. The good news is you don't have to be overly flexible to reap the benefits!
